At SIS, we hire foreign and local teachers who are certified and experienced in teaching the British Cambridge curriculum from various countries.
All the form tutors and Heads of Year are expatriates and they teach English, Humanities subjects such as World History and Geography as well as some other selected subjects according to their expertise.

Ethan has been with Straits International School since Year 7 and he is currently in Year 9. Since then he has seen significant growth not only academically but in other areas of his school life. With small classroom sizes, teachers are able to give Ethan enough attention during lessons. He also enjoys some of the other co-curricular activities that the school offers like photography, Wushu and drum lessons. SIS provides a well-rounded school experience with a good and important mix of social, cultural and community activities without losing focus on the academics. We could not be happier with the support the school has offered us - from the excellent teaching staff to the general management. We have been here in SIS since early 2018, and I have seen lots of improvement from my daughter's academics which was weak before coming to this school. Although sometimes my child complains like any child, then every weekend or after each school holiday she can't wait to get back to school to meet all her teachers and friends. I would say teachers from SIS are passionate in developing our child.
